The Eighth General Assembly of the International Council on English Braille (ICEB) will be held in Auckland, New Zealand, from Saturday 25 to Thursday 30 May 2024. Details about the General Assembly, Program, registration, accommodation, and related information follow.

Dates and Programme
The dates are Saturday 25 May to Thursday 30 May 2024 (inclusive) for the General Assembly itself.
A welcome and reception will take place in the early evening of Saturday 25 May.
There will be a meeting of the outgoing ICEB Executive Committee on Saturday, 25 May at 2:00pm and a meeting of the incoming ICEB Executive Committee on Thursday 30 May at 1:00pm concluding by 3:00pm.

Delegations
Each Full Member braille authority of ICEB may send a delegation of up to four members, at least 50% of whom must be braille readers. Each delegate should be regarded by his/her standard setting body as knowledgeable of English language braille. Serious consideration should be given to selecting delegates who can represent the interests of blind consumers.
Each delegation of a Full Member of ICEB shall have one vote.
Each Full Member of ICEB should send a list of the names and addresses of the members of its delegation to the ICEB Secretary, Frances Mary D’Andrea, at least 60 days prior to the commencement of the General Assembly or not later than 26 March 2024, email info@iceb.org.
All delegates, accompanying persons and guest speakers are required to complete a registration form.
Observers
Interested observers, both individuals and organisational representatives, are welcome to attend the General Assembly. Observers will have opportunities to speak at the General Assembly at the discretion of the Chair, but do not have the right to vote.

Registration
Each person attending the general assembly must complete the registration form.
Attendees will be responsible for their accommodation and evening meal costs.

All General Assembly papers will be available by email prior to the commencement of the General Assembly. The date to receive completed papers has passed. The brf files should be 25 lines by 30 cells, suitable for embossing on A4 or 8.5 by 11-inch paper.

We are meeting in the Aucklander room, on the ground floor, near the reception and toilets.
Accommodation room rates in The Grand Millennium Hotel are NZD 270.00 for single occupancy, or NZD 311.00 for double occupancy. The rates include 15% Goods and Services tax and breakfast.

This communicates the event booking name and identification number. Include in your email:
- First name
- Surname
- Arrival Date
- Total nights required.
- Number of occupants (Single (1) or Double/twin (2))
- Contact number.
The hotel reservations team will then call the attendees to confirm the reservation and retrieve a credit card over the phone to secure payment for the booking.
We have booked a block of rooms in the hotel and paid a fee to secure the block of rooms. Please book your accommodation in The Grand Millennium Auckland Hotel as soon as you can. If numbers are not reached, we will need to release rooms.
If you are not staying in the hotel you will be responsible for your transport to and from The Grand Millennium Hotel Auckland each day.
Electricity and Internet Access
The electricity standard in New Zealand is 240 volts 50Hz AC. New Zealand and Australian power sockets are identical.
Wireless internet is available at the hotel and in the meeting venue free of charge.
Transport to and From Auckland International Airport
The drive from Auckland International Airport to The Grand Millennium Hotel takes between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on traffic.
Your BANZAT hosts will be pleased to meet you at the airport.
